Prof. V. Saravanan Arunai Engineering College, India
Biography: Dr. V. Saravanan working as Professor in Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Arunai Engineering College, Tiruvannamalai, Tamilnadu, India and holding the responsibilities of Head/PG/EEE and Institution Coordinator of Indian Society for Technical Education, NewDelhi, since May 2005. He has been carrying out R & D activities at Arunai Engineering College sponsored by Central Power Research Institute, Bangalore, Ministry of Power, National Insitute of Wind Energy, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and Department of Science & Technology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India in the area of renewable energy systems. He has teaching/industrial experience of about 18 years. He received his B.E in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from University of Madras, in 2001, M.E. in Power System Engineering from Annamalai University, Chidambaram, in 2005 and Ph.D. degree in the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University, Chennai in 2013. He carried out collaborative research work with Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore as Young Scientist Fellow sponsored by Tamilnadu State Council for Science & Technology, Government of Tamilnadu in 2019. His research interests include Solar Photovoltaic Power Systems and Microgrid. He published more than 70 research papers in National/InternationalJournals/Conferences/Exhibitions.He guided few projects which won Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers Association Student Project Award and Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) awards in the years 2010, 2011, 2016 and 2019. He received ISTE – Syed Sajid Ali National Award for Outstanding Research Work in Renewable Energy for the year 2018 and ISTE- Stripes of Redeemer National Award for the Best ISTE Chapter Chairman (College) for the year 2014, 2019 by ISTE, New Delhi and Tamilnadu. He is member of Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, USA, Indian Society for Technical Education, India and International Association of Engineers, Hongkong. He is a reviewer of selected SCI Journals and Technical/Advisory committee member of National/International Conferences. He visited countries like Germany and Singapore through state sponsored events.
