Title:  State-of-the-art laser spectroscopy sensing techniques and applications
Abstract:
Laser absorption spectroscopy technique is ideal tool for trace gases detection thanks to its multi-element detection capability combined with high resolution, high sensitivity, non-destructive and high-speed of analysis. With the rapid development of laser fabrication technology, tunable diode lasers have emerged as attractive laser sources for spectroscopic applications. In this report, state-of-the-art laser spectroscopy sensing techniques will be demonstrated as a promising tool for high resolution molecular spectra and for noninvasive, real-time identification and quantification of trace gases and isotope analysis in various fields such as climate warming, Mars exploration, ocean exploration, bio-medical diagnosis, etc.
Biography:
Dr. Jingsong Li received his PhD degree in Optics from Hefei Institute of Physical Science (HIPS), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), China in 2008. He worked as a Postdoctoral fellowship, Research scientist and Visit scholarship at Reims University (France), Max Planck Institute for Chemistry (Germany), Colorado State University (USA) and Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology (Switzerland), respectively. He is currently a professor at the College of Physics and Material Science, Anhui University, China. His research involves the development and implementation of novel mid-infrared quantum cascade lasers, sensitive spectroscopy techniques and advanced digital signal processing for trace gases and Volatile Organic Components (VOC) sensing for atmospheric chemistry, industrial and environmental applications. He has authored over 60 journal (including Sensors and Actuators B, Optics Express, Applied Spectroscopy and Applied Spectroscopy Reviews, etc.) and conference papers (invited talk at IRMMW2015, EESED2015& SOPO2017). Jingsong Li’s professional activities have included: Member of IEEE, OSA, SPIE and EGU; Approved candidate for a Visiting Fellowship in Canadian Government Laboratories, Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada; Editorial board member of Sensors & Transducers Journal; Technical Program Committee Member of IEEE Sensors 2015-2017; Scientific Referee for tens of SCI international journals concerning fields of optics, laser/fibre sensor, digital signal processing and applied spectroscopy, and Referee of Research Proposal for China Scholarship Council (CSC), National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Swiss National Natural Science Foundation (SNSF).
