标题: Membrane nanopore based biosensor for the prediction of graft success in horticulture plants
摘要:
The interfacial electrical resistance across the scion-root stock surface may be the marker for measuring the graft success rate in woody plants during the grafting process. Biosensor is a sensing device consisting of biologically active material used in association with a device that converts (transduce) a biochemical signal into a detectable electrical signal and capable to trace the morphological changes of adherent cells providing quantitative data from both sparse and confluent cultures. The compatibility of graft in plants has been found proportional to the drop of the electrical resistance of the graft union. The drop of electrical resistance of graft union has been taken as the analyze to trace the morphological changes in the cell of graft interface and a model of an electrical FET and MOSFET based biosensor has been proposed to detect the compatibility of the grafts, more efficiently in comparison to the techniques used by the other scientists, because it is capable of detecting vertical motion of cells of the order of 1 nm, much below the resolution of an optical microscope.
