Title: Collision frequencies in the astrophysical and space plasmas with power-law distributions | |
Abstract: In many astrophysical and space complex plasmas, there are various power-law velocity distributions, such as the kappa-distribution and the -distribution etc. Due to the fact that these power-law distributions are non-Maxwell velocity distributions, the traditional statistical physics theories are not suitable for dealing with the transport properties of such plasmas, and therefore they need to be studied within a new statistical theoretical framework. Nonextensive statistics is a new statistical theory developed in recent years, which can be well used to study the properties of complex plasmas with the kappa-distribution. Here we will report the collision frequencies in the complex plasmas with the kappa-distribution, including the collisions between charged particles, the collisions between charged and neutral particles, and the collisions between neutral particles in the plasmas. |
